China Southern Airlines Launches “Last-Minute Boarding” Service

China Southern Airlines has introduced a new service designed to save time for travelers — the “Last-Minute Boarding” program, which eliminates the traditional check-in process. Under the new system, passengers can complete security checks and board the aircraft as late as 15 minutes before departure.

The initiative aims to provide greater flexibility and convenience, particularly for passengers with sudden schedule changes, tight connections, or urgent travel needs. The airline noted that the service maintains operational punctuality while offering passengers more control over their travel experience.

As of October 22, the program — initially available only on the Guangzhou–Beijing Daxing and Guangzhou–Shanghai Hongqiao routes — has been expanded to include additional destinations:

Guangzhou – Zhengzhou (round trip)

Guangzhou – Hangzhou (one way)

Guangzhou – Haikou (one way)

Guangzhou – Kunming (one way)

With this expansion, an additional 58 daily flights are now part of the system, covering 11 routes and over 100 daily services in total. The airline aims to deliver a faster and more seamless travel experience through this innovative boarding model.
